You guys are honestly missing out on a good book if you don't read Pride & Prejudice, i swear.
Though i'm only at chapter 19, which is not very far considering how short each chapter is (5 pages?) and the number of chapters there are.
It is extremely comical i tell you. It made me laugh, that's impressive enough, considering the fact that this is one of the few books that did. Unless you understand it that is, i didn't understand it in primary four and usually fell asleep reading it. Never stopped though, somehow.
What especially tickled me was the way Lizzie straightforwardly refuses silly Mr Collins's marriage proposal numerous of times, how Mr Collin persists in thinking that Lizzie is behaving like a lady who puts on airs and a mask of pretense, wanting to test his persistance and enjoys the feeling of being wooed because as Mr Collins puts it, women love to reject but are internally wanting the man to just keep asking because they actually mean yes but i'll only agree if you ask more, this shows you love me or something. When i read that i started laughing, that is so dumb! If so, what would the lady say if she would not want to marry that detestable suitor? Answer with a yes? I honestly doubt so, if so the poor lady would have no choice but to agree suffer, give up her own persuit of happiness just for the mere mistaken answer?! What great injustice. Questionable character, Mr Collins is. Fancy him just choosing Lizzie because Jane was taken and deeply in love with Mr Bennet, who in turn loved her dearly and set his eyes upon her only.
( so sweet and romantic right? right! hahaha) I mean, that is so superficial!! Purely for the sake of marrying, it is evident from the above paragraph that he doesn't even know Lizzie well enough to tell she is definetely NOT one that would beat around the bush and doesn't bother what people think about her straightforward nature.
What i love about the book is how all their conversations (or prose) is in a story form. For example, one character could reply a question in a really long way (ie, like a short story) and you have to decipher it. I absolutely love that, mainly cos my book is the other version not simplified and summerised.
So people, do go buy or borrow the book. It rocks!
Better still, read then go buy the DVD :D

Alright, i'm off to revise in advance. I really had to proclaim how i enjoyed the book, have fun everyone and HAPPY early VALENTINES! :D :D
(what's so great about it? if you and your husband/wife/bf/gf were to be truly in love, everyday would be like living in cloud nine! so wait till you get married girls, all the days of passing valentines will be more than enough (: )
